One of my favorite units is World Art, in particular when we get to Asian Art — The Koi Fish is not only fun but lends itself to numerous art projects in every medium. I've pulled my favorite information togethers with enlarged images for digital display or print. Then there's a watercolor example, coloring page for a bell ringer/intro/sub plan, examples of the different types of koi fish and what their colors symbolize, an example of a 3D paper koi along with it's template and notes (I think I do this one every year - always a favorite with students!), and the step-by-step "how to draw a koi". 11 pages in all to get you thinking KOI!
