Egyptian Art History — We're working our way through art history starting from the beginning of time so when we got to Egyptian art I needed a really unique project that could span many grades and involve several skills. This project will fit perfectly if you're looking for something different that doesn't involve Egyptian gods, tombs, mummies etc. which can be sensitive to some students. The hippopotamus that was favored and respected by the Egyptians on papyrus paper that started during the Egyptian time period. 2 pages on hippo history related to Egypt including William the Metropolitan's Museum of Art's mascot. The page on papyrus paper gives a brief background on it's history. Enlarged images are included for print or digital display. Instructions for our blue hippo on your hand-made papyrus paper included as well as images and template for them included. Recommended for grades 1-8, you can adjust difficulty level accordingly.
