DESIGN CHALLENGE: The aim of this lesson is to teach how to generate ideas for graphic designs. Steps students through the 3 Cs of Graphic Design: (Components + Composition = Concept). Using a simple symbol, students use it to create 8 different compositions with 8 different concepts with the symbol. Great for skill building for logo design and even layout. Gets students to realize that in design, there are several possibilities before you land on a final design. Your first ideas are almost never the final outcome.
 
Has one sheet of symbols, although you can use others and/or encourage students to think of their own. Great as a skill building, stepping point for other design processes, full lesson, sub plan, virtual lesson, etc.
