68 Slide presentation for presenting Egyptian Art Covering time periods, monuments, color palettes, use of color, nobility vs. slavery, human form, hieroglyphics, amulets, and more. There are notes on many of the slides so it enables you, as the teacher, to transition from one to the next and cover the main aspects of art in Ancient Egypt. Great to start discussion, lessons, etc. and accompany your art project.

Designed so that it's comprehensive and includes all major points in Egyptian Art. Naturally lends itself to discussion of their culture, etc.

Personal Note: I've designed this because I like presentations that have beautiful imagery and cover all bases in any time period I might be presenting. I have found many existing Power Point presentations either to elementary or not extensive enough. My hope is that this includes interesting things to students while get everything in. Loads of images for reference while you're working on projects. I tend to leave my PowerPoints accessible and flip back and forth through pictures as students work. Helpful if you have at least a general background of art history/history since so much art overlaps cultural study, etc.

Project Ideas I have used for this time period:

• Cylinder and/or signet seals with air dry clay or plasticine clay

• Handmade papyrus paper (or on ceramic platters) with hieroglyphics and drawing of noble or slave person. Add a twist and students have to include one modern element with their figure.

Worksheet I use during this study:

  • Ancient Egyptian Art History - Guess What it is Worksheet Activity Analysis
