A Hands-On Art Club Adventure
There's something magical about turning everyday materials into something entirely new. Our Art Club recently dived into the world of robots, using recyclables and metal collectibles to bring their mechanical creations to life!

We started with cut styrofoam for the basic body and head shapes, then wrapped them in heavy-duty tin foil for that classic metallic look. With a little hot glue and a lot of imagination, our students crafted some truly unique robot designs. Some had gears and bolts, while others sported antennae, arms made from bottle caps, and even futuristic control panels!

The best part? This project isn’t just about sculpture—it’s a stepping stone for our next creative challenge. Now that our robots are built, we’ll be bringing them to life in a whole new way—on paper! Our next step is to draw these creations and transform them into original cartoon characters.
Check out some of our design activities to get their minds rolling!
Projects like these give students the chance to think outside the box (literally!) and see how art and storytelling can go hand in hand. Who knows? We might just have the next great animated character in the making!
